Code of Conduct

As at August 2025

This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behaviour of all committee members and general members of Women in PR Business Council to ensure a professional, respectful, and inclusive environment for all.

1. Core Values

  • Respect: Treat all members with dignity, regardless of background, experience, or opinion.

  • Integrity: Be honest, transparent, and accountable in all dealings related to the committee.

  • Professionalism: Engage in all activities with courtesy and constructive communication.

  • Support: Uplift fellow members and create a safe space for sharing, learning, and collaboration.

2. Conduct Guidelines

  • Refrain from personal attacks, gossip, or disruptive behavior.

  • Disagreements must be handled with professionalism—no shouting, public arguments, or intimidation will be tolerated.

  • Respect decisions made by the committee and the processes in place.

  • Maintain confidentiality where expected, especially in sensitive matters.

  • Represent Women in PR positively in all public or professional engagements.

3. Dispute Resolution

  • Any concerns or disagreements must first be addressed privately between the parties involved.

  • If unresolved, the matter may be brought to the Committee Chairman or Secretary-General in writing, email or face-to-face.

  • A mediation process may be facilitated by a neutral committee member.

  • All parties are expected to participate in good faith and refrain from hostile behaviour.

4. Misconduct and Disciplinary Action

  • Any member (committee or general) who is repeatedly quarrelsome, disruptive, or acts against the interests of the group may be nominated for expulsion.

  • The nomination must be proposed by one committee member and seconded by another.

  • The matter will be tabled for discussion and voting at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) or the next scheduled committee meeting.

  • A simple majority vote is required for the decision to take effect.

  • The member in question will be given an opportunity to present their response before voting occurs.

5. Final Notes

This Code is a living document and may be updated through consensus at committee meetings.

By being part of Women in PR, members agree to uphold this Code of Conduct in spirit and in action.
